Beat Bobby allows you to contact your local Beat Bobby online or by text message twenty-four hours a day seven days a week with any information or issues that affect you or your community. You will receive an instant response telling you when to expect further action. You get important information delivered to your email or mobile directly from your Beat Bobby.

If you or your BCU has a positive attitude to community engagement we have a micro site that gives full details of this service and the benefits in detail for you and your communities.
Please provide the following information with your request

1 Police Force / BCU
2 Your name rank and a contact number.
3 send this to info@beatbobby.co.uk

You will then receive a link and password to the micro site.

Lets face it your Beat Bobby can't be everywhere and if you join today your Beat Bobby gets and extra pair of eyes and ears in the community yours.

What do I need to join?
Three things:
An email address that you check frequently.
A mobile phone.
Your Beat Code.

Each community has a beat code for example F1234. Your Beat Bobby can tell you your beat code. You will also see posters and leaflets in shops around the area you might also be able to get a leaflet from your local radio station.

What if I forget my password?
No problem go here and pop in your email address. You will then receive your password by email

Can I join by text message?
Yes. See your Beat Bobby or a poster for details.

Can I unsubscribe by text message?
Yes. send unsubscribe.beatcode (note the dot) to the number you use to contact your Beat Bobby.

What personal information do you need about me?
So your Beat Bobby can send you information your name your email address and your postcode and if you would like to receive information by text message a mobile number also.

Will you give my details to anyone else?
No, we adhere to a privacy policy which states all information provided to your Beat Bobby, electronically, will be treated in confidence and will not be disclosed to third parties - unless required to do so by law.
When you register please read the security policy.

Will you be sending me spam?
No. Information sent to you is from your Beat Bobby and is important and about where you live.
You will receive full colour online newsletters the occasional survey and community alerts delivered to your desktop or mobile phone about where you live.

Can I leave the scheme?
Yes. Just login to your account and press delete. You are in control.

How will I know if the email or text is from my Beat Bobby?
All emails that you receive will be from noreply@beatbobby.co.uk.
You should not reply to these messages as they will not be received by your Beat Bobby.
For security reasons to send your Beat Bobby a message login to your online account and send the message from there. Or send a text message.
Text messages you receive will start with the name of your community.

Can I contact my Beat Bobby?
Yes. 24/7 either online or by text message. Details or how to do this are in your control panel.
You will also get an instant response telling you when to expect further action.

Will anyone see my contact details?
No. We do not use CC or blind copies. Information is sent just to you from your Beat Bobby.

Can I change my contact details?
Yes. Just log into your account and make the changes you need.

Can I share information that I receive from my Beat Bobby?
Yes. We encourage you to tell friends in your area about news you receive from your Beat Bobby also encourage them to join.

What if I am a business?
Then you need to let us know. If you run a business please go here to join.

Can I change my details if I move house or Internet service provider?
Yes login to your account and make changes to your contact details there. If you change your mobile number please make certain that you update your contact details.

Does this cost me anything?
All information you receive from your Beat Bobby is free. If you send a text message to your Beat Bobby this is charged at your network rate (normally 10p)

Is this the first step to replace my Beat Bobby?
No. This is a tool that allows you to help your Beat Bobby. It also means your Beat Bobby can get important information to you. We believe that keeping you informed about what is happening where you live is important. We also believe that two way communication with you is vital as information that you provide to your Beat Bobby could help to solve a crime.

Can I use this service instead of calling 999?
No. This service should not be used if your information is of an urgent nature or life is at risk or you see a crime being committed. In an emergency always dial 999.

Is this going to replace Neighbourhood Watch?
No. This system compliments Neighbourhood Watch. In fact there are tools that will help Watch Co-ordinators communicate better with their members. Ask your Beat Bobby for details.

When will my Beat Bobby read any messages that I send in?
If you send a message online or by text message to your Beat Bobby you will get an instant response either by text or email.
This will inform you when your Beat Bobby will be checking their messages. If a team polices your beat then the first member of the team will deal with the message.
If your Beat Bobby is sick or on leave your message will be passed to an administrator to deal with. The information you send to your Beat Bobby is important and will be dealt with as soon as possible.

Can you give me an example of the messages I might receive?
Yes. Public alerts will be sent to you if for example there are bogus callers in your area.
Please pass this information onto your neighbours and friends. Newsletters will be about general issues where you live.
We will also send you the occasional survey to gauge opinion about issues in your community.
